Fixed Voltage Regulator Using IC LM317
Aim : To study fixed voltage regulator using IC LM317.
Requriments: IC LM317,Capacitor(100PF,1UF) Resistor (680E) load resistor , DC variable power supply , Voltmeter.
Introduction: LM 317 IC used for adjustable power supply regulated it is also used to fixed voltage regulator the terminal is connected for input voltage which is apply 8V and pin no.3 is used for output voltage it is in range of 1.2 vto 3.7 v the adjustable is connected to resistor also use adjusting the voltage by the variable voltage and connected to negative capacitor. Positive and Negative termainls for filtering as capacitor C2 for bypass is connected for by pass capacitor it is output current line regulator 1.5A is 0.01% more max. input voltage is 40 Volts.
Produces : 1) Connect the circuit as shown in figure and apply the voltage.
2) Line regulation measure the voltage at output as in line regulator and the percentage of regulation.
Conclusion: In the experiment of fixed voltage regulator IC LM 317 when we apply the input voltage the out put voltage is constant and the load regulator also.
